Sambutan Hari Alam Sekitar Sedunia, World Environment Day disambut pada 5 Jun setiap tahun dengan membawa tema yang tersendiri sebagaimana yang telah ditetapkan oleh United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

World Environment Day

Hari Alam Sekitar Sedunia disambut bermula pada tahun 1972 dan telah berkembang menjadi sambutan utama seluruh dunia dengan pembabitan Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu (PBB) dalam meningkatkan tahap kesedaran masyarakat dunia terhadap isu alam sekitar serta mempertingkatkan tindakan dan penglibatan terhadap perubahan alam sekitar.

Hari Alam Sekitar merupakan hari untuk semua orang, memberi peluang kepada semua pihak untuk mengambil bahagian dalam tindakan sejagat bagi menggalakkan perlindungan terhadap iklim, menggunakan sumber dengan lestari serta mengamalkan gaya hidup yang mesra alam.

Disambut pada 5 Jun setiap tahun dan pada setiap tahun tersebut terdapat sebuah negara yang dilantik untuk menjadi `tuan rumah’.
